Brutal killings in KZN must stop – Zwakele Mncwango

DA PL says no perpetrators have been brought to book for murders stemming from ANC's political infighting

Brutal killings in KZN must stop

23 November 2017

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KZN sends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Sthe Mhlongo, ANC Youth League Deputy Secretary in the Moses Mabhida Region whose life was cut short in a brutal shooting early this morning.

This comes just a few days after the shooting and killing of Lungisani Mnguni, an ANC activist from Richmond.

This year alone has seen a number of lives being cut short due to the continuing political infighting of the ANC where no perpetrators have been brought to book.

The DA calls on the MEC for Transport, Community Safety, and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, to urgently intervene. It is unacceptable that innocent lives are cut short in KZN and South Africa yet the perpetrators are not arrested and convicted.

We call for calm and peaceful campaigning in the run-up to the African National Congress in December.

The continued brutal and senseless killings trample on the very freedoms that were fought for and that a number of South African work to advance on a daily basis.
