Dlamini-Zuma will ensure faster service delivery – ANCYL KZN official

Thanduxolo Sabelo says AU commission chairperson the most capable for the job of ANC President

Dlamini-Zuma will ensure faster service delivery – ANCYL

Durban – If elected president of South Africa, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will speed up service delivery, a senior KwaZulu-Natal ANCYL official said on Sunday.

"She is very capable. She will be able to unify the country and party, and ensure a faster pace of service delivery," ANC Youth League provincial secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo said.

Sabelo was speaking to journalists outside the inaugural economic freedom lecture at Durban's City Hall.

He said that the youth league had nationally backed Dlamini-Zuma, chairperson of the African Union Commission, because she was "the most capable for the job".

"We as the youth league want Dlamini-Zuma. It is the stance of the ANCYL at a national level as well. The accolades and the work done by her speaks for itself. She is very capable."

A clear stance from the president

According to Sabelo the youth league wanted frank answers from President Jacob Zuma on economic transformation for poor black people. Zuma was billed to speak at the lecture.

"We [also] want the president to speak clearly about the issue of the land. How are we going to give it back to the rightful owners? How are we going to give the mineral deposits back to the people, how are they going to be made to benefit?"

Sabelo said the youth league demanded a clear plan on job creation from the president.

"We want a clear implementation plan. We are tired of policies and strategies. What we want to see is implementation and transformation of the economy."
