The Democratic Alliance in the North West has written to the MEC for Education, Sello Lehari, requesting him to reveal a list of the schools that the Guptas had so-called "social partnerships" with.

According to reports, the Gupta family was granted citizenship based, among other things, on their "social partnerships with 75 schools in the province of the North West amounting to R1m".

The DA will ask MEC Lehari to provide a full list of the 75 schools and outline the social commitments that were allegedly provided by the Gupta family business.

Upon receiving the names of the schools the DA will conduct oversight visits to the schools to determine whether these schools truly benefitted from this project.
