Gerrie Nel: AfriForum promoting Afrikaner supremacy - ANCWL

League calls for govt to reverse racial imbalances which breed arrogance of minority groups

THE ANCWL STATEMENT ON ESTABLISHMENT OF PRIVATE PROSECUTORAL UNIT BY AFRIFORUM

2nd February 2016

The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) has noted reports that AfriForum, the Afrikaner rights organisation has established private prosecutoral unit.

Whilst Afriforum is within the prescribed of the South Africa's (SA) constitution to establish it's own private prosecutoral unit, their actions clearly demonstrate that the CODESA idea of building united prosperous SA is not embraced by all.

Afriforum is part of the organisation that in the past established, among others, their own university- Akademia and their own technical college - Sol Tech. By establishing these parallel structures, the anti-transformation, anti-affirmative action Afrikaner formation is undermining the spirit unity in SA and promoting Afrikaner supremacy.

The arrogance portrays by Afrikaner right wing organisations is perpetuated by their financial muscles built through the apartheid system that benefitted the minority. The apartheid system has turned SA into having the most unequal society in the world with high unemployment rate and poverty characterised by race. The ANCWL calls on the ANC led government to expedite land redistribution and economic transformation to reverse this imbalances created by apartheid which breeds arrogance of minority groups.

The SA Constitution is hailed as the best in the world and it is evident that some clauses of the constitution are exploited by opportunistic anti- transformation agents to undermine Government programs and to reduce black people to be beggars and landless in their country of birth. The ANCWL joins the progressive voices which calls for a debate on whether SA should consider parliamentary democracy or just continue with constitutional democracy.
