Councillors expelled for refusing to cooperate with DA and EFF – IFP

Party says they are determined to deal decisively with anyone that stands in the way of commitment to the voters

IFP expels two councillors

23 August 2016

The IFP has expelled two of its Edumbe Councillors for defying party resolution to cooperate with the DA and EFF. In a statement just released, IFP Deputy National Spokesperson Joshua Mazibuko says: "The IFP has been forced to expel with immediate effect two of our members - Ms Duduzile Princess Masondo and Mr Nyanga Doctor Ndlangamandla - who were also sworn in yesterday as Coucillors in the Edumbe Municipality. The party took this resolution after the two decided to vote with the ANC in yesterday's inaugural meeting of Edumbe Council, thus defying the resolution of the IFP to work with the DA and EFF in the elections for Office-bearers in all municipalities. This means that the two former Comrades can no longer represent the IFP in this Municipality.

"We hope this will show that the IFP is determined to deal decisively with anything or anyone that seeks to stand in the way of our commitment to the voters."
