EFF wishes all a Revolutionary Christmas

Fighters call on all to be generous, remembering the poor and underprivileged

EFF WISHES ALL A REVOLUTIONARY CHRISTMAS

24 December, 2016

The EFF wishes the people of South Africa, Africa and the world a revolutionary Christmas Day. We call on all who will be travelling this Christmas to do so safely, avoiding to drink and drive or drive when fatigued. We also call on all young people to refrain from abusing alcohol and drugs, and to practice safe safe.

Christmas is about embracing a kind and human spirit of generosity. In this time, we remember life as a gift from God and not something we manufactured in a factory. Thus we express our own appreciation of this gift by actively giving to others. We therefore call on all to be generous, remembering the poor and underprivileged. May no one go hungry this Christmas and may no one lack shelter to hide their head.

Furthermore, we call on all who will be descending to different holy places to pray for the violent torn regions in our continent. We ask that we place Gambia and DRC in the fore which threaten to descend into civil war. We must also remember Western Sahara which continues to live under the occupation of Morocco to this day, denied of the right to self determination.

Finally, each time in Christmas, we remember that the birthplace of Jesus Christ, Bethlehem in Palestine, is under the racist military occupation by the Israeli government. We know that if it were today, the wise from the east who travelled to give gifts in recognition of the birth of Christ would have to go through multiple humiliating check points and an Apartheid Wall to get to Bethlehem of Judea. We therefore call on all peoples of the world to remember Palestine. The greatest gift we can give to them is boycotts, divestments, and sanctions to isolate the apartheid state of Israel in order to end its expansionist occupation of Palestinian lands.

When we have done all these; shared a meal and shelter with the poor, prayed for violence torn countries in the African continent and placed Israel under international isolation for the freedom of Palestinians, then indeed it shall be a revolutionary Christmas.

Revolutionary Christmas to all.
