Elect those committed to service delivery – Agri SA

Organisation says SA requires visionary leadership who will serve the interests of all citizens at a local level with sincerity

Agri SA on the upcoming local elections

1 August 2016

The local elections which will take place during this week ask of all South African citizens to cast their vote and to elect councillors who are absolutely committed to ethical and effective service delivery at local level.

South Africa now requires expertise and visionary leadership who will serve the interests of all citizens at the local level with utmost diligence and sincerity.

Agri SA therefore calls on all agricultural producers, agricultural companies and all other stakeholders in the agricultural value chain to allow their staff to cast their vote at the nearest polling booth and to exercise their democratic right to vote for the political party and candidates they support.

Agri SA also pray for a peaceful and free election and trusts that all political parties, candidates and the broad South African public will respect the letter and spirit of the IEC's election code at all times.

Our National Constitution is an embodiment of particular values and ideals aimed at building a fair and just society and local elections are instrumental in unlocking these values and ideals through laying a solid foundation for a better life for all our people. The opportunity to make a difference presents itself during the coming week. Participate actively, peacefully and respectfully during the coming elections. Your vote counts!
