Last chance to register for the change SA needs – Mmusi Maimane

DA says South Africa cannot wait for the ANC to find its moral compass

Last chance to register for the change SA needs

6 April 2016

I spent today campaigning door-to-door in Soweto along with the DA’s metro mayoral candidates and the DA’s national leadership, and the response has been hugely encouraging. There is an urgency for change in South Africa that is palpable. The ANC may have won the impeachment vote in Parliament yesterday, but they lost the votes of the people we spoke to today.

Tens of thousands of DA volunteers and activists are going to door-to-door around the country this week. We are doubling our efforts before the final registration weekend, to ensure that every voters knows that the change they want is only possible if they vote for it.

This coming weekend is the last chance South Africans have to register to vote in the upcoming Local Government Elections. It is crucial that anyone who is dissatisfied and angry about the state of our nation ensures that their name is correctly registered on the voters’ roll.

Corruption is the cancer that will ruin our country. South Africa cannot wait for the ANC to find its moral compass – we have no time left.

It is not the DA’s job to help the ANC rediscover its integrity. Our job is to win elections so that we can deliver for all South Africans the kind of free, fair and inclusive society they have been promised for decades.

The DA will continue to work hard to deliver this urgent message to communities across South Africa. I know that our local politics can be disheartening at times, but I urge South Africans not to lose hope. Let’s go out in great numbers and register so that we can all build the country we want and deserve.

Register for Change!
