03 July 2015

The Economic Freedom Fighters has successfully opened criminal cases against Cyril Ramaphosa, Nathi Mthethwa, Suzan Shabangu, Riah Phiyega, Zukiswa Mbombo and Lonmin. Today, the EFF leadership, led by CIC Julius Malema laid charges of Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, and Murder on a case number 06/07/2015/Marikana.

The EFF will never rest until politicians who used political means to pressure the police to kill workers are brought to book. This is because no one is above the law.

The EFF has also checked on the progress of cases opened by workers against the police in 2012. These are case numbers 167/08/2012 and 168/08/2012. The police have indicated that because these cases are against police themselves, they have been referred to Independent Police Investigative Directorate. The EFF will therefore follow up on these cases to ensure justice is attained.
