Poor police work hindered Terre'Blanche case - FF+

Pieter Groenewald says prosecution of youth was tripped up by shoddy investigation

POOR POLICE WORK IMPEDES TERRE'BLANCHE CASE

"The FF Plus welcomes the guilty verdict of Chris Mahlangu, the murderer of Eugene Terre'Blanche, the former AW leader. It is however clear that shoddy police work had been to the advantage of the youth who had also been involved in the case and this undermines jurisprudence in South Africa. The Police is negligent if it does not keep itself up to date with new legislation such as the Children's Act, 38 of 2005, which was applicable to the youth.

The Police is the first link in the criminal procedure system and if that investigation is lacking, criminals get off scot-free from their crimes. Through this the Police does not fulfil its constitutional obligation to protect you and me as citizens," was the reaction of Mr. Pieter Groenewald, the Freedom Front Plus' chief spokesperson on Police to the judgement of judge Horn in the Eugene Terre'Blanche murder case today.
