SACP reiterates its solidarity with the Palestinian people

Party will take part in the forthcoming Week for Palestine global activities

SACP condemns the ongoing apartheid Israeli settler regime genocide on Palestinians, reiterates its solidarity with the Palestinian people and will take part in the forthcoming Week for Palestine global activities

The South African Communist Party (SACP) strongly condemns the ongoing apartheid Israeli settler regime’s genocide on Palestinian people, reiterates its message of solidarity with the Palestinians and will participate in the Week for Palestine global activities from 1 to 7 May.

On Saturday 20 April, yet another mass grave, with about 200 Palestinian bodies, was found in at Khan Younis, Gaza. The bodies include elderly women, children and young men. In following the strict tutelage of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime, the Israeli regime had the victims bound before executing and hurriedly burying them. This marks the latest Israeli settler state’s genocidal rampage, adding to the 34,000 deaths of Palestinians the regime killed since 7 October 2023.

On the same weekend, on Sunday 21 April, the apartheid Israeli regime killed at least 14 Palestinians during a three-day military raid in the West Bank. Over 482 Palestinians have been murdered by apartheid Israel in the West Bank since 7 October.

Palestinians have the right to self-determination, and this right is daily being destroyed by the Israeli settler state regime with the full economic, political and military support from the imperialist United States.

Israel and its benefactor, the imperialist United States regime, continue to be isolated by the world. The 15-member United Nations Security Council voted overwhelmingly to recognise Palestinian statehood, with 12 in favour. This right was shot down by the United States regime, which cast an isolated figure in its colonialist corner at the Security Council. Yet again, the people of the world overwhelmingly condemn the occupation and the support that Israel receives from the United States regime and its military.

The SACP calls for deeper international solidarity unity among justice-loving people across the world, including governments and international bodies in favour of a just and peaceful world order, to more and more isolate apartheid Israel economically, politically, culturally and otherwise.
