SASCO clueless - EFF SC

Command says Congress has reduced itself to an organisation of petty ANC defenders

EFF Student Command on SASCO’s corruption allegations and their attack on the Commander-in-Chief

22 July 2015

The EFF Students Command has been contacted by various media houses this afternoon after SASCO released a statement laden with corruption allegations against VUT SRC members and disgusting, unwarranted attacks on the Commander in Chief, Julius Malema. It is against this backdrop that we see it fit that we respond to both the media and our constituency through these means.

After an enquiry was made a local radio station a few weeks back about the allegations, the President of the EFF Students Command, Mpho Morolane, held a meeting this past weekend with both the Branch Students Command Team and the SRC at VUT. Not only did he meet with these two structures but participated in various conversations with students on the ground to further investigate these allegations.

We were delighted to find out that not only has the SRC been performing very well in this institution but students are generally satisfied with the service they are receiving. Every involvement of the EFFSC in that institution is above board and on par with generally accepted standards of governance in the university.

The EFFSC however is not at all surprised by this low blow from SASCO which is nothing but an election campaign stunt and a lazy attempt to paint VUT, VUT’s SRC and ultimately the EFF in a bad light.

Not so long ago, the ANCYL publicly displayed its myopic politics, its disregard for the law and its embarrassing thoughtlessness about this country’s painful history by publicly declaring its intentions to recreate Apartheid laws of restricting movement and bulldozing our justice system to support their madness.

Not long after that, the forever drunk Minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande, ordered its minions, the YCL, to deal with the EFF and further on publicly declared war on the EFF.

We have anticipated the eventual hopping on, one by one, of the rest of the PYA affiliates in this death train of pure retards, thieves, murderers and drunks.

Not so long from now, the poor step kids of the ANC, COSAS will too be resurrected from death and given a chance to try. This too will not surprise us.

It is also important to note that the 2015/16 SRC elections are highly contested and will be used by the ruling party to consolidate its power in all campuses in preparation for 2016 local government elections. SASCO losing Fort Hare, a university which forms a formidable part of the ANC’s, to DASO, VUT, including many other campuses with EFFSC student leaders, to a new born, the EFF was not only an embarassing rejection of SASCO and the ANC by students but a huge nail in SASCO’s coffin. The failure of SASCO is directly linked to the failure of the ANC in next years’ local government elections. That is why all stops will be pulled to ensure SASCO, and the PYA regain popularity within students. More so, where else would one find potential voters more organised than in campuses?

Not long after fabricating lies and spreading rumours about the opposition, flashy cars will parade South African campuses, t-shirts will be raining and bashes will be the order of the day. This is how the ruling party and the PYA view students, as amnesiac party animals who should momentarily forget about all the suffering they are enduring under the ANC and PYA student leaders.

Soon after the votes, financial exclusions will continue. Financial extortion by landlords who prey on students who are desperate for accommodation will continue. Having to sell one’s body to sugar daddies just to have a meal at the end of the day will continue. Having to choose between buying a loaf of bread and tampons will continue. Abuse by lecturers and being undermined by management will continue. The list is endless

Students’ lives under the rule of the PYA and communities’ lives under the ANC will be as hellish as before. Same story different cast.

The ANC failed miserably to kill the CIC’s political career by manufacturing baseless, unfounded corruption allegations against him and went as far as bullying SARS to fight its battles. SASCO followed on the same trail today, they manufactured malicious allegations then ran to the media, expecting it to fight its battles. Nothing new here.

The poorly written statement is a clear indication whoever wrote the statement is a victim of uncontrollable excitement who did not even bother to check their facts before publishing the piece.

The cardinal mistake they made is to refer to us as the EFF when we are actually the EFF Students Command, so absent minded they are, they are clueless about the new dominant force that is commanding multitudes of students in South Africa today.

SASCO has reduced itself to an organisation of petty ANC defenders and lapdogs, who each harbour the dream of one day being given a piece of the big cake at the expense of students. Not only has SASCO abandoned students’ struggles across the country but has turned into puppets of the ruling party and management and is used to enforce anti-black, anti-poor and anti-student decisions onto our students.

SASCO has long lost its relevance and will continue losing elections in South Africa’s institutions and like its mother body, will resort to ridiculous and disgusting ploys in an attempt to cling onto power.

SASCO’s national leadership is a toothless dog, so weak its own branches openly defy it, the recent trip to Israel is a classic example.

We are not going to exert too much energy in awarding their nonsense with a sane response. We will however remind all sundry that the EFFSC won VUT SRC elections with an emphatic and overwhelming majority. Our victory was a clear and decisive voice of students, students we will not disappoint. They were rigid in their response to sincerely reject SASCO in the elections to further confirm that the EFFSC is the true vanguard and mouthpiece of students in all campuses.

Internal disciplinary processes will be taken against fighters who have decided to fabricate stories and collude with SASCO in its lazy attempts to derail the SRC in VUT and confuse our people. All EFFSC members and all EFFSC SRC Deployees are bound by the 7 non-negotiable cardinal pillars of the EFF. Any member that is found to be in breach of our Constitution, particularly the 7th cardinal pillar which advocates for open, accountable and corruption free governance, will be dealt with accordingly.

It is also important that we provide clarity on the suspension of the former Secretary General of VUT SRC. The Fighter was removed from the SRC because of the institution’s academic policy for student leaders. We understand the Fighter may have expected us to force the institution to reinstate him but the EFF Students Command holds academic excellence very highly, we will never make any member of the EFFSC compromise their academics for student politics. It is unfortunate that some fighters will go to such extremes to settle scores but we have all mechanisms in place to deal with them. They are not the first rogues and are definitely not the last this movement will see, but we will continue to cleanse ourselves of them.
