MEMORANDUM
History has taught, events incidents have occurred and life's has been butchered in the past due to a racial revolution. It is baffling and shocking that more than 30 years post 1976 uprising in Soweto, we are still faced by the same face of the revolution that intent to compromise the future of an innocent. African child. Today the graves are giving a smile due to the fact that they have swallowed heroes and heroines of the struggle and that was given birth by the same face of this revolution "AFRIKAANS". We would hate to see history repeating itself particularly not with one of the greatest event that is to take place in our country ‘the world cup".
We would also hate to dent and destroy the image of our beloved country because of a system that contradicts the right to learn in the bill of rights. As the Young Communist League of South Africa we believe that AFRIKAANS is a Giant Goliath man inan clothes which contradicts the right to learn in the Freedom Charter which states "the doors of learning and culture shall be open".
The young Communist League would like to forward the following recommendations to your office:
- That the use of AFRIKAANS in a public school be abolished and ENGLSH be used as a medium of instructions.
- That an advance platform be created to enable our black disadvantaged sisters and brothers to be educated.
- That the Honorable MEC's response to our memorandum be faster than the velocity of a private jet (before the end of this month).
That a post mortem be conducted to see if whether the Employment Equity's aspects have been fully implemented.
