We abide by NEC's Zuma recall decision - ANCWL

League calls for unity, says any division in ANC benefits historical enemies of revolution

ANCWL STATEMENT ON THE ANC NEC DECISION TO RECALL  PRESIDENT JACOB ZUMA

The African National Congress Women's League (ANCWL) has noted the decision of the African National Congress (ANC) National Executive Committee (NEC) to recall President Cde Jacob Zuma.

As the disciplined integral part of the ANC, the ANCWL abides by the ANC NEC decision. The 54th national conference has democratically elected NEC members that only through undivided support from ANC structures, leagues, members and supporters will weather the storm and continues to discharge it's responsibilities of leading the ANC into building non-racial, non-sexist and democratic prosperous society.

Whilst the ANC NEC is dealing with this matter to it's finality,  all ANCWL cadres are requested to be preoccupied with working towards uniting the ANC and making it an even more effective instrument of liberation in the hands of the people. The ANC remains the only capable organisation that can dismantle the legacy of colonialism and apartheid characterised by inequalities, unemployment and poverty.

Furthermore the ANCWL leadership collective calls all  members and supporters of the ANCWL to go to the ground and mobilise the masses to register to vote for the ANC in the coming 2019 National and Provincial elections. It is in the best interest of majority of South Africans for the ANC to overwhelming win the 2019 elections and be able to fully implement decisions of the 54th conference. The ANC NEC must be unapologetic in ensuring that the decisions taken by the 54th conference are not watered down and land is expropriated without compensation, media sector is transformed, the fight against gender based violence is intensified, the South African Reserve Bank is nationalised and there is radical shift to ensure that there is  gender equality in ownership, management and control of all the economic sectors in the country.

The poor and the working class will be the most affected if the ANC members and supporters do not focus in uniting the ANC in theory and practice. Any division in the ANC benefits the historical and class enemies of our revolution and hinders the National Democratic Revolution. We call all our members and supporters to remain calm and afford the ANC NEC space to handle this matter to it's finality in the best interest of the country and the organisation.

Unity of purpose is sacrosanct.
