What the men didn't know was the boerewors, spinach and pap was full of poison.
NOW FIVE MEN ARE SERIOUSLY ILL AND TWO HAVE DIED!
The survivors, who did not want to tell Daily Sun their names, said they didn't suspect anything when the man told them he had food for them.
They only realised there was something wrong when they all developed the same symptoms.
The survivors, who are all from Evaton, Emfuleni told Daily Sun they all started feeling terrible after eating the food.
"I was vomiting spinach and white foam was coming out of my mouth. My tummy was running," said one of the survivors.
One of the survivors managed to rush home and call the parents of one of the dead men, Lebohang Ndungwane. He then went to the clinic himself for treatment.
"I woke up to the news that my friend had died," he said.
The victims believe the man who poisoned them suspected them of breaking into his house and took revenge. Apparently he works at a chemical factory.
According to the survivors, the man who provided them with the food was arrested but later released.
Paulinah (52) and David Ndungwane (55), the parents of Lebohang (35), said they came to Daily Sun because the police have not taken any action against the alleged criminal.
Paulinah said on 24 February, the day her son died, his friends called her to the scene where he had collapsed.
"When I got there, I found him lying on the ground," she said.
"He was very red in his face and was sweating uncontrollably."
Paulinah took him to the local clinic, where he died.
His father said: "He never gave me any trouble. He didn't have to die like this."
The family of the other dead man, Mbulelo Nkabinde (20), also feel the police are not doing enough.
Mbulelo's mother, Mabel Nkabinde (53), said even though she knew her son was smoking drugs he never gave her problems. She does not believe he stole the TV.
"My child's life ended because of something he did not do," she said.
Cops said they are investigating the incident and say they will comment today.
