"Senzo: Kelly could be charged!" - Daily Sun

Cops investigating a possibly deliberate murder! - front page lead, December 1 2014

Daily Sun (December 1 2014) - THE SPOTLIGHT has shifted. It's been a month since Senzo was shot dead and died in Kelly's arms, but the cops are no longer investigating a robbery . . .

THEY ARE INVESTIGATING A POSSIBLY DELIBERATE MURDER!

In a shocking development, one of the seven people in the house when Senzo died could soon be charged with murder.

If this twist in the investigation proves correct, it would also mean that those in the house at the time of the killing lied about what happened.

A tweet went viral after Senzo's death, allegedly from a soccer player who said he was at a party in Sunninghill where Senzo was. The tweet was immediately dismissed by witnesses and police.

"Senzo, guys, was not robbed. I was @ Mahumutsa's party when he left to go and see Kelly," said the message.

"He was shot by Kelly's in-laws. Zaza was fighting with her boyfriend. Apparently Senzo tried to stop the guy and he pulled a gun and shot him. What it said on the media about the robbery is not true. It's just to protect Kelly's family."

The man's whose Twitter account was used later refused to take responsibility for the tweet and said his account was hacked.

According to a City Press report yesterday, the Bafana Bafana captain knew his killer.

The newspaper reported that cops are investigating those who were with Senzo the night he died in Kelly's mother's house in Vosloorus, Gauteng.

The people in the house at the time of the shooting were:

) Senzo

) Kelly

) Kelly's sister, Zandi

) Zandi's boyfriend, Longwe Twala

) Kelly's mother, Ntombi

) Senzo's friend, Tumelo Madlala

) a man known as Mthoko.

Police originally said Senzo was killed during a robbery when armed men stormed the house and demanded Kelly's phone.

Three men were linked to the attack and witnesses told cops that Senzo was shot while protecting Kelly.

But now three detectives investigating the case said it was suspected that one of the people Senzo was with that night was the likely killer.

One of the witnesses is allegedly having sleepless nights. He says he was coached into corroborating the statements of others.

A firearm belonging to one of the witnesses was taken and sent for forensic investigation last week.

City Press quotes one of the investigators saying: "I can assure you a witness who was there during the shooting will soon be taken in for questioning and possibly be arrested after that," said the investigator.

Lawyer Andrew Boerner said that if any of the witnesses, including Kelly, had lied they could be charged with perjury and sentenced either to a fine or some months in jail for defeating the end of justice.

Gauteng Police Brigadier Neville Malila did not want to comment on the new development in the case.

When Daily Sun contacted national police Lieutenant- General Solomon Makgale, he also refused to say anything about the matter. Kelly's family spokesman Percy Vilakazi said he had absolutely nothing to say about the matter and referredDaily Sun to Eugene Mthethwa, who could not be reached.
