President congratulates advocate, wishes him well in new role of promotion constitutional justice in SA

Appointment of Advocate Madlanga as a Judge of the Constitutional Court

President Jacob Zuma has, in terms of section 174(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and after consulting with the Chief Justice of the Republic and the leaders of political parties represented in the National Assembly, appointed Advocate Mbuyiseli Russel Madlanga SC as a Judge of the Constitutional Court with effect from 01 August 2013.

"I congratulate Advocate Madlanga SC on this appointment and wish him all the best in this new role of promoting constitutional justice in our country. We also acknowledge and thank all the highly capable candidates who were shortlisted for this position," said President Zuma.
