“Muthi doll ruined my life!” - Daily Sun

“Evil things buried years ago are behind my hardship and heartache, says sad Samuel” - front page lead, 14 September 2015

Daily Sun(14 September 2015) – AFTER many years of hell, Samuel believes the cause of his hardship has finally been removed.

A powerful sangoma went to a place in his yard and started digging until he made a frightening discovery.

THEY FOUND A DOLL WRAPPED IN WOMEN’S UNDERWEAR AND STABBED WITH PINS.

“I feel like a burden has been lifted from my shoulders,” said Samuel Mokoena (53) from Tladi, Soweto.

“It is clear that this thing was buried in my yard a long time ago.”

Samuel told Daily Sun his family has been haunted by bad luck for a long time.

“I lost three of my sons over a period of 15 years.

They all died in car accidents,” he said.

“My 27-year-old daughter got married but she came back home after only a year when her husband chased her away.”

He said he was retrenched from work in 2001 and was never paid. He fought with his employer but he gave up the fight.

“I hoped I would get a better job but that never happened,” he said. He said he tried everything from sangomas to pastors but nothing worked.

“Sangomas told me there was a tokoloshe in my house but they couldn’t remove it.

Pastors came and prayed but nothing changed,” he said. But last month he went job hunting in Germiston and met a man who convinced him to use a different sangoma.

“That’s when I went to sangoma Nkosana Mthiyane,” he said.

“Before I could even tell him about my problems he told me everything that had happened to me and then told me there was muthi buried in my yard.”

He said the sangoma came to his house on Thursday.

“He did rituals around the yard and then found the doll,” he said.

He said he will go job-hunting today and he is sure he will come right this time.

Sangoma Nkosana Mthiyane confirmed he had dug up muthi in the Mokoena home.

“The muthi was buried many years ago.

“It was made from a doll with needles in it and wrapped in women’s underwear.”

He said whoever buried the doll wanted bad things to happen to the Mokoenas.

“The muthi doll would have caused the family to be involved in accidents or even suicide.

“They would always have bad luck, like losing jobs or being robbed or even murdered,” he said.
