Daily Sun (September 13 2013) - THE BULLY GIRL gave Nomonde Hlungwane a sandwich and forced her to eat it. But the bread was laced with rat poison! NOMONDE DIED A HORRIBLE DEATH, WITH BLOOD COMING OUT OF HER EARS! Later the bully ALSO took poison - but she survived.

The incident which happened last week has shocked parents and kids at Lethulwazi Secondary School in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, where Nomonde (14) was a grade 8 pupil. According to a source who doesn't wish to be named, the bully, who is 15, is a troubled child who in the past has forced young kids to steal.

"When kids were caught they confessed that the girl had sent them," the source told Daily Sun.

"She gave the sandwich to Nomonde last Tuesday, telling her she had to eat it because she couldn't go back home with bread left in her lunch box," said the source. Two hours later Nomonde became sick and was taken to Natalspruit Hospital in Katlehong.

Nomonde's mother, Sandra Mafika, of Mfundo Park, Vosloorus, told Daily Sun 14-year-old Nomonde had told her about the bully.

"I told her to stop going with that girl because she used to misbehave," cried Sandra. She said in hospital her daughter was bleeding from her ears and mouth. "Doctors did their best but she died yesterday."

She was later shocked to learn the bully had also taken the poison and was in the same hospital.

"I went to ask the girl why she had done such a thing. She just said both of them had taken the poison.

"She showed no remorse," said Sandra.

The heartbroken mother said she sent people to talk to girl's family but they didn't bother to come and see her.

"I felt bad because as parents they should have come to talk to me. There is nothing I can do.

"Their daughter is out of the hospital and still alive, while I have to live with my daughter's tragic death," said the mum.

According to Daily Sun's source, the bully took poison the day after Nomonde had been taken to hospital.

"I asked her why, if they both wanted to kill themselves, she didn't take the poison at the same time. She could not explain it," said the source.

Sandra described her daughter as sweet and caring.

"She lived with my parents and looked after my father, who has an eye problem."

Lethulwazi Secondary School headmaster, Jerry Maphosa, told the People's Paper that Nomonde was a pupil with great potential.

He said he saw both girls after school. "I spoke to them and they were laughing. I was surprised when I heard what had happened.

"I told Nomonde's mother the matter should be reported to cops," said Maphosa.

Sandra said they will open a case at Vosloorus Police Station today.

Nomonde will be buried tomorrow at the Rondebult Cemetery in Boksburg.
