ANC WINS THE MAJORITY OF SEATS IN MTUBATUBA MUNICIPALITY FOLLOWING BY-ELECTIONS
07 MAY2014
The African National Congress (ANC) has won the majority of seats in Mtubatuba Municipality, North of KwaZulu-Natal, after a massive campaign leading to the by-elections that took place in 19 wards yesterday.
The ANC showed its strength when it won many wards, leaving other political parties struggling behind. The entire leadership collective of the ANC is upbeat with the faith the people of Mtubatuba indicated to have in the organization.
ANC KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Secretary Cde Sihle Zikalala said the victory recorded by the ANC in Mtubatuba was a foretaste of next year's Local Government Elections. "We are very pleased with the victory. People have realized that the ANC is their only hope and we will do all in our power to make sure that we change Mtubatuba for the better," Cde Zikalala said.
He said the ANC was very humbled by the support it got from the people. Many other political parties struggled and got a consolation of at least one or two seats in the Council because the people of Mtubatuba did not want any political organisations that would not work for them. They instead showed their faith in the ANC as an organisation that has their interests at heart.
