ANC's hijacker candidate is an insult to voters!
It speaks volumes about the type of organisation that the ANC has turned into that they have put forward a convicted hijacker and armed robber as their candidate in tomorrow's Kloof by-election.
My own investigations confirmed that the ANC's candidate, Dumezweni Ndlovu has served jail time for armed robbery, hijacking, theft and vehicle theft; I have now, subsequently, revealed this to the press (see Mercury report.)
That this situation has even arisen is an indication of the ANC's frightening disinterest in ethical and honest governance; this is an insult to voters, and this candidate must be withdrawn immediately.
It is notable too that instead of apologising and immediately withdrawing the candidate, the ANC has been trying to shift the blame to the IEC. It is not the IEC's fault if the ANC fields a hijacker as a candidate, it is the ANC's fault.
If we are to take the fight against crime seriously, then no political party should ever contemplate nominating a convicted hijacker and armed robber as a candidate, at any level of government.
