THE DA WAR ROOM CLAIMS ANOTHER VICTIM

The DA war room has claimed yet another victim in the West Coast. The existence of this so-called DA provincial war room to get rid of officials appointed by the ANC came to light earlier this week together with documentary proof of such collusion.

The DA controlled Saldanha Bay municipality at its council meeting voted amid great secrecy to terminate the employment contract of the present municipal manager, Mr. James Fortuin. This ill-fated decision costs the municipality R1,27 million, was taken without a formal report to council and the mayor refused to answer any valid questions of ANC councilors.

Mr. Fortuin is an experienced and very able municipal manager and an example of the success of the ANC's transformation strategy. During his term, under the leadership of the ANC controlled council, Mr. Fortuin achieved remarkable success at the municipality.

This includes improving the audit opinion of the municipality from a disclaimer, ordered a forensic investigation to uncover fraud and corruption, and won numerous national awards for financial sustainability.

We call on the DA to stop this mad and racially inspired attack on black municipal managers. We further call on the DA to answer the legitimate questions of ANC councilors.
