SPEAKER ACTS ON ALLEGATIONS AGAINST PUBLIC SAFETY'S MFIKOE

Office of the Speaker in the City of Johannesburg has taken note of allegations against the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Public Safety, Clr Matshidiso Mfikoe which were submitted by the DA Councillor, John Mendelsohn.

The Speaker has acted swiftly on the request for investigation by the DA and asked for substantial evidence to warrant an investigation. However, the public should be patient with the due process as issues of integrity are involved.

Madame Speaker's Office has now referred the matter to the Ethics Committee for further investigation. All interested parties are invited to forward any information which could assist the Ethics Committee to speedily address these serious allegations.

MMC Mfikoe has indicated her readiness to co-operate with the investigation as expected of all Councilors.
