Mangosuthu Buthelezi hospitalised - IFP

IFP says doctors say its president is fatigued and needs to rest for a week

IFP PRESIDENT INSTRUCTED TO REST

The IFP wishes to inform the media of the hospitalization of its President, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, in order to avoid rumours and misperceptions.

It is well known that throughout more than a decade in public life, Prince Buthelezi has never taken holidays and works at a pace that few can keep up with. After a punishing schedule during the Local Government Elections earlier this year, he never took a break and never rested.

Doctors have now expressed concern that Prince Buthelezi is suffering from fatigue and have admitted him to Empangeni Garden Clinic in order to obtain the rest he needs. He is expected to be discharged within a week.

Prince Buthelezi has expressed disappointment at being unable to attend the annual Reed Dance ceremony of His Majesty the King of the Zulu Nation, to perform his responsibilities as the traditional Prime Minister to the Monarch. Nevertheless, he respects the instruction of his Doctors.

The IFP wishes its President a well deserved rest.
