Parliament should suspend Dina Pule - Watty Watson

DA Chief Whip calls for action after ex-communication's minister is linked to assassination plot

Parliament should suspend Dina Pule immediately

The DA calls on the Chief Whip of the ANC caucus in Parliament, Stone Sizani, to suspend former Communications Minister, Dina Pule, immediately subject to the outcome of an investigation into allegations that she is threatening the safety of other Members of Parliament and parliamentary personnel (see Sunday Times report).

Should Pule not be immediately suspended, the DA will push for her suspension at the next Chief Whips Forum on 15 August 2013.

According to media reports, Pule and her alleged boyfriend Phosane Mngqibisa are behind an elaborate assassination plot against parliamentary ethics committee chairman, Professor Ben Turok, and the registrar of members' interests, Fazela Mohamed.

These are serious allegations which must be investigated. Dina Pule should be suspended from Parliament, and the Portfolio Committee of Transport, until such an investigation is finalised.
