Was Aimee Franklin forced to quit the NYDA? - ANC WCape

Millicent Tingwe says DA Youth representative was under pressure from her party

Who told DA member of Youth Agency to quit?

The withdrawal of the DA youth director Aimee Franklin from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) came as no surprise as she was under severe pressure from her party.

The factional DA youth has over a period done everything possible to vilify the NYDA and all the good work it does. Instead of celebrating the successes, the DA concentrates on the challenges only.

The ANC says the DA youth leader was given a real opportunity to serve in the NYDA and contribute constructively to the advancement of the youth cause. Instead, the DA did not fully utilise such an important chance on a global scale. It raises serious questions about the DA's commitment to youth development.

It is clear Franklin was instructed to withdraw. The DA youth is not independently acting on behalf of the youth and it is clearly driven by somebody else.

The ANC deplores the DA's tactics to force Franklin out. This bully tactic is very ironic a day before the start of the campaign against the violence women and children face.
