Why I withdraw our court action - Lehlogonolo Masoga

ANCYL Limpopo chairperson says he was persuaded by the ANC leadership to drop the matter

"The ANC shall forever prevails over all of us who believe in it"

Since the day of the infamous Makhado April 2010 Provincial Conference the ANCYL in Limpopo and across country at large has walked a path never experience before in over six decades of its existence. Events that have characterized our organization in the last few months have left an irreparable damage on the heart and soul of our beloved organization and the movement at large. These events demand of all of us to answer a very important question "is the revolution still safe in our hands". As members and leaders of the organization we all bear the responsibility to safeguard the unity, integrity and sanity of our movement and continuously win the hearts and confidence of our people.

What has now become known as the court application to interdict the unjust and grossly unfair disciplinary processes launched against me (Masoga Lehlogonolo) and fellow comrades has culminated into an unprecedented pain ever inflicted on our organization and the movement post liberation. I have personally been subjected to untold pain and humiliation as a result of these developments. However, the reality I have come to appreciate is that my pain and humiliation is not and shall never be above that of my organization and the movement at large. My conviction to the rule of law and the struggle for justice is a matter than cannot be deferred for political expediency.

On 11th July 2010 I was advised and persuaded by the ANC national leadership to remove the matter out of court to allow the organization space to provide leadership. I wish to put on record that the intervention of the ANC did not come with terms and conditions as pre-condition to settle the matter out of court. As we said before, political matters do not belong to the courtrooms but rather appropriate political forums. The ANC shall forever prevail over all of us who believe in it - in it we trust. We earnestly await the political guidance and counseling from the national leadership of the ANC and warn all those who want to hold us back to desist.
