YET ANOTHER POWER FAILURE AT BARA HOSPITAL

Surgery has been cancelled today at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital because of a power failure.

It appears that generators are working, but surgeons and anaesthetists refuse to do elective surgery as they don't want to risk generators failing again after they failed twice last week.

It is outrageous that this hospital has an unreliable power supply.

Staff and patients are traumatized by the repeated power failures, and waiting lists for surgery grow longer.

People are losing trust in the ability of hospital management to handle this problem.

Special measures must be taken to ensure that the hospital is supplied with electricity at all times.
