Update on SABC Board Chairperson

President Jacob Zuma has received a letter from the Speaker of the National Assembly Ms Baleka Mbete asking him to consider suspending the Chairperson of the Board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), Ms Ellen Tshabalala, following the outcome of an inquiry by the Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Communications into her alleged misrepresentation of qualifications.

President Zuma is considering the request.
