President played no role in SABC appointment

The Presidency has noted with great concern, statements in the media, alleging the involvement of President Jacob Zuma in the appointment of the chief operating officer of the SABC (see M&G report).

The President has no role to play in the appointment of SABC management or staff and did not play any role in the said appointment. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and unfortunate.
