"Hymn of suicide! I'm Coming to You Lord, sang little Sebabatso..." - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, May 10 2013

Daily Sun (May 10 2013) - When Sebabatso came home from school he was heard singing "I am coming to You, Lord" from the gospel hymn He Had Chosen. But later that day his sister went to his bedroom and found the eight-year-old boy dead under the window. HE HAD HANGED HIMSELF WITH HIS UNCLE'S BELT!

Why little Sebabatso, who was known as a happy child who was always singing, would have taken his life, remains a mystery. His aunt, Makresemese Makwai, the family spokeswoman from Nyakallong in Allanridge, Free State, described the last morning of Sebabatso's short life.

"When he woke up he played a little, then he had a bath and got dressed, had his breakfast and went off to school," she said. "When he left the house he was singing a song named Matebele by Oskido."  His teachers at Tshireletso Primary said he seemed normal. "They told us they heard him singing and playing," said Makresemese.
