RELEASE OF ANC CANDIDATES LISTS
The African National Congress has released its lists of candidates for the 2009 national and provincial elections. These lists were submitted to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on Monday 2 March.
The list of candidates for the National Assembly is in two parts: the national-to-national list (200 candidates), and the provincial-to-national lists (200 candidates).
The second set of lists is of candidates for the nine provincial legislatures. The number of candidates in each provinces is determined by the number of seats in each legislature.
The ANC is fielding candidates for all seats in the National Assembly and nine provincial legislatures.
In putting together these lists, the ANC has emphasised inclusivity and representivity.
