FOR MONTHS, the two sisters received threatening SMSes from a stalker. Now one of the sisters is dead and the other lies trembling in her bed at night. SHE LIVES IN FEAR, WONDERING IF SHE'LL BE NEXT!
Sixteen-year-old Ouma Mosesi disappeared in September. Her body was found on 20 October but it lay in Sebokeng mortuary, unidentified, until last weekend. But the SMSes have not stopped.
Sarah Mosesi (27), Ouma's sister, is still receiving the messages. Ouma and Sarah started receiving the SMSes in September. The terrifying messages were made even worse because the stalker clearly had personal and private information about them.
He often sent messages indicating that he knew what clothes and even what underwear they were wearing - and he was always right! The women reported the matter to the police but the SMSes kept coming and the family's nightmare reached a new level on 19 October, when Ouma disappeared from her house in Sebokeng.
The family members launched a search for the girl without success.
"It was hard. We didn't know where she was," the girl's mother, Ntshebo Mosesi (47) told Daily Sun. "She said somebody outside was calling her."
The family reported Ouma missing and posters with her picture and police contact numbers were put up in Sebokeng - but nobody had seen Ouma. Then her body was found.
At the time, Daily Sun had attended a crime scene on the busy Adams Road in Evaton, where an unknown woman's body was found on the pavement covered with banners. She had been strangled to death with a chain and left lying in the rain.
Her body was taken to Sebokeng mortuary, where it lay until this past weekend, when a mortuary employee recognised Ouma from posters placed at the Thabong Shopping Complex in Sebokeng.
Ntshebo shared her sorrow - and her fears - with Daily Sun.
"I'm still hurting because my little girl is gone and I'm also scared because Sarah is now receiving the SMSes. The messages say she will die like her sister," said Ntshebo.
Ouma's aunt, Ernestina Masopha (45), said she suspects Ouma's death was a Satanic attack. She said on 27 September, Ouma went outside, saying somebody was calling her.
"When she came back she told us a man had pricked her stomach with a needle."
Ouma said the man wore a mask and a bandana over his mouth and his eyes appeared like black holes.
Ernestina said the family prayed for Ouma after that incident and she believes when the Satanists could not recruit her, they decided to murder her.
Police Constable Tshifhiwa Mitileni said cops have opened a murder docket.
"Investigations are underway. No suspects have been arrested," he said.
