MK Party Western Cape outraged by actions of former DA MMC Malusi Booi

The uMkhonto weSizwe Party in the Western Cape is outraged by the actions of former Democratic Alliance Human Settlements MMC Malusi Booi, who was arrested and appeared in court for allegedly misusing public funds for personal gain. The prosecution informed the court that eight tenders totalling R1.024 billion were involved in the alleged saga, these tenders were allegedly granted to three firms thought to be connected to gang leaders.

The MK Party stands for transparency, accountability, and good governance. We expect all public representatives to uphold these principles in their service to the people. The then DA MMC Malusi Booi and all those implicated in the matter have failed to meet this standard, and he along with the Others must face the full consequences of his actions. This betrayal of the people's trust will not be tolerated, and we call on law enforcement agencies and the courts to do their work in dealing with perpetrators of corruption.

This scandal has tarnished the reputation of the legislature and undermined public confidence in their elected leaders. It is imperative that we take decisive action to restore trust in our political system. TO this end, the MK Party Western Cape Will work closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the former DA MMC Malusi Booi faces the full force of the law. We urge the DA to strengthen its internal mechanisms to prevent any future incidents of corruption or malfeasance prevalent in the DA's public representatives.

We urge the DA to remain vigilant against corruption and to hold their leaders accountable for their actions. Society is in need of transparency and accountability where public servants serve the people with integrity and honesty instead Of what we see prevalent.
