All corrupt individuals must go - Malema

Pretoria - We are saying to the corruptors we will protect our government, Economic Freedom Fightersleader Julius Malema told journalists minutes after the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ruled that Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's "state capture" report must be released.

Malema said he was now coming after National Prosecuting Authority head Shaun Abrahams and SARS Commissioner Tom Moyane.

"We don't want [President Jacob] Zuma; we don't want Abrahams. Tom Moyane must also go. All those corrupt individuals must go."

Malema said should Zuma not resign, the EFF would take further action.

Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane said that Wednesday marked a turning point in the country.

"Today we look forward to the report. It's a turning point in South Africa and Zuma must account... Our simple request is that Zuma must go."

The state capture report which investigated possible influences by the Guptas in Cabinet appointments is expected to be released within hours.

Earlier, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's spokesperson Oupa Segalwe said she had noted reports that Zuma had withdrawn his application for an interdict.

"We don't have a problem releasing the report, except we need to be sure that all is clear," said Segalwe.

He said there was still the application by Minister Mosebenzi Zwane to consider before releasing the report.

"We are closely following developments on that as well as the current proceedings in court."
