ANC GAUTENG CALLS FOR DRASTIC ACTION AGAINST THE MIDVAAL MUNICIPALITY

The ANC Gauteng is calling for drastic action to be taken against the Midvaal Municipality and DA leader's blatant corruption. The Public Protector's report raised the same issues we complaint about that there is collusion between the municipality and the firm run by the DA leader (see here - PDF).

The DA controlled municipality has been using government to enrich an individual, Mr Andre Odendaal (DA Chairman and only Council Attorney) by taking property owed to municipality and selling it at huge profit.

The ANC Gauteng is seriously considering laying criminal charges against all those who have improperly benefited from the sale of property. The ANC want the MEC for Housing and Local Government - Mr Humphrey Mmemezi to study the Public Protector Report and take the necessary steps so that there is no cover-up of illegal and corrupt practices by the DA controlled municipality.

The Public Protector report shows a very corrupt, scandalous, immoral, unethical and disgraceful manner in which some of the politicians and officials have been helping themselves with public money and resident's properties for self enrichment.

One wonders how many of those which they govern are in this situation. They broke all the rules, procedures and policies of council to serve the DA heinous and corrupt agenda. The report is now in public, the DA should be ashamed at their mendacity, denials and that they have deliberately misled the community.
