Eskom notes the intent of Centlec to apply for the takeover of supply in three Free State towns

The article titled “Transfer of Eskom power supply to Centlec and three towns gets green light in Mangaung’s board,” published by Netwerk24 on 02 September 2024, refers.

Eskom acknowledges the intention of Centlec and the support from the Mangaung Council for Centlec to take over the electricity supply to Thaba Nchu, Wepener, and Soutpan. However, Eskom has not been consulted on this matter and reserves its rights regarding the regulatory process related to licensing and the transfer of supply areas.

We want to reassure our customers in these regions that Eskom remains responsible for their electricity needs and is committed to ensuring a continued reliable electricity supply.
