Reverend Frank Chikane, Director-General in The Presidency, takes the Sunday Times to Court

On 8 June 2008 the Sunday Times newspaper published two articles concerning Reverend Frank Chikane titled "Frank Chikane's lie is exposed" and "Portly preacher leads flock into deception."

Both articles contained statements that are malicious, wrongful, unlawful and defamatory of him. Rev Chikane requested the Sunday Times to publish an apology but this was refused. Their response has left Rev Chikane with no choice but to take the newspaper to court for defamation.
