The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal congratulates the city of uMhlathuze for adding another feather in its cap by means of another clean audit outcome. The 2022/23 clean audit outcome is the 9th for the DA-IFP run city which also walked away with the Sound Financial Management Award recently.

This makes uMhlathuze one of only 4 out of 54 municipalities in the province to achieve a clean audit in the past financial period. This remarkable accolade and recognition by the office of the Auditor General is a clear indication of the consistency at the helm of this thriving city with growing potential.

The latest outcome in uMhlathuze serves as recognition and testament to the hard work and relentless dedication by DA Deputy Mayor, Christo Botha, at the helm of the thriving city. This also shows that where the DA governs, whether fully or through a working partnership, the outcome is good and progressive governance which benefits the people.

It is without a doubt that this latest achievement further signifies the unlimited potential that stands to be unlocked when the right kind of leadership rolls up its sleeves to work relentlessly for the betterment of the ordinary citizen.
