654. The Leader of the Opposition (DA) to ask the Minister of Public Works:

With reference to her reply to question 2151 on 31 August 2010,  what has been the total cost to date to the State of (a) the renovations to the President's Nkandla homestead and (b) ensuring that the President's Nkandla homestead meets the (i) security and (ii) medical requirements relating to heads of state?  NW700E

Reply

(a) The only expenditure incurred is per prescripts of the Ministerial Handbook that are required for a sitting Head of State, and any other requirements that would be determined by security, health and other related departments.

(b)(i)(ii) Due to security reasons, the department cannot disclose this information.
