The African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng welcomes the announcement of the Members of the Executive Council by Gauteng Premier, Comrade Panyaza Lesufi, on Wednesday, 3 July 2024, marking the long-awaited formation of a Government of Provincial Unity.

This historic moment follows the unanimous results of the National and General elections held on 29 May 2024, where the people of Gauteng, through their votes, expressed their desire for their respective political parties to work together.

As a leader of society, the ANC in Gauteng heeded this clarion call and engaged in extensive discussions to form the Gauteng Government of Provincial Unity (GPU) with all parties represented in the legislature guided by the national framework to form a Gauteng Government of Provincial Unity.
