FF Plus files criminal complaint against Malema – Pieter Groenewald

FF Plus files criminal complaint against Julius Malema at Cape Town Central Police Station

27 October 2022

The FF Plus today filed a criminal complaint against Julius Malema, leader of the EFF, at the Cape Town Central Police Station for the inflammatory statements he recently made at an EFF conference in Cape Town.

On the video footage of his speech, one can clearly hear Malema inciting people to murder a person who allegedly assaulted EFF members during a protest at Brackenfell High School.

Based on the video footage, he told EFF supporters, among other things,

"You must never be scared to kill. The revolution demands that at some point there must be killing because the killing is part of the revolution."

This is blatant incitement to violence and murder.

Malema also violated the Riotous Assemblies Act, which declares any incitement of people to commit violence or any other crime a criminal offence.

The FF Plus has already lodged a complaint of hate speech and incitement to violence at the Human Rights Commission (HRC). The HRC confirmed that it is investigating the matter.

Julius Malema must understand that South Africa is a constitutional democracy and everyone must abide by the country's laws.

He also needs to take note of the fact that he cannot just do and say whatever he pleases without there being any consequences. The time has come to act against him.
