1475. Mr A M Figlan (DA) to ask the Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform:

(a) On how many occasions since 1 March 2010 did his office hire a vehicle to transport (i) him and (ii) his Deputy Minister and (b) in each case, (i) what was the cost of hiring the vehicle, (ii) for what reason was the vehicle hired, (iii) for how many days, (iv) what (aa) make and (bb) model of vehicle was hired and (v) what total distance was travelled? THE MINISTER OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND LAND REFORM:

(a) (i) 80

(ii) 9

(b)(i) The total cost for the rentals was R339 210.00 and R32 401.00 for the            Minister and Deputy Minister respectively.

(c) (ii) The Department hired the vehicles for the Minister and Deputy Minister to discharge their mandate.

(iii) 168.

(iv)(aa) and (bb) BMW X1, X3, X5 & X6; Audi Q5 & Q7; Mercedes Benz E-Class; Mercedes  Benz ML350; Toyota Prado; Mitsubishi Pajero and VW Touareg.

(v) 35 322 kilometres.
