"My mabhebeza misery!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, June 30 2014

Daily Sun (June 30 2014) - MABHEBEZA may be the ugliest thing ever seen in a bottle. But if you have it, some women say, you will have power in bed like never before!

MEN WILL SCREAM WITH PASSION AND ALWAYS COME BACK FOR MORE, THEY TOLD DAILY SUN.

Gilbert Tseko (58) and his wife and daughter no longer live together in the house in White City, Soweto.  But his daughter still used to come around to the house and pour water into a bottle she hid from Gilbert. She would also drink from the bottle. Gilbert became suspicious. He looked for the bottle and when he found it, he immediately decided it was dangerous. "I went around asking people what it was," he said.  "I was shocked when they told me and what it was used for." Suddenly Gilbert understood why his wife had such power over him.

"My wife would have sex with me and I couldn't help myself. I would do anything for her," he said. "When I confronted my wife and my daughter about it they snapped at me and wanted it back, but I wouldn't give it to them."  Gilbert said he only came to his senses when his wife left him.  He said he plans to throw the mabhebeza into a stream somewhere. "They must never be able to find it," he said.  Daily Sun spoke to Gilbert's wife. She said Gilbert was talking nonsense. "The mabhebeza doesn't harm anybody," she said.

My daughter brought it home after she did a school project." But the daughter said she didn't know what her parents were talking about. "I never did a school project with  mabhebeza," she said. When Daily Sun spoke to people on the street, the ones who knew about mabhebeza said it was powerful.  A Soweto woman who asked not to be named said it works wonders for her. "I've got three boyfriends and they support me financially. I can ask them to give me R2 000 each and they won't ask why," she said. "Instead they'll come running to give it to me."

She said her mabhebeza is mixed with a tea and she kept it in a secret place. "When I know one of them is coming to visit me, I drink it. When we have sex they scream and want more and more of me," he said. Mahlinza Dlamini, a Vosloorus sangoma, said she has found that Ben10s also use mabhebeza. "Ben10s target older woman and once the affair starts, I can tell you, the women spend all their money to keep these men. They become so jealous they will do anything to keep these boys," he said.
