"Senzo: I'll die for the truth!" - Daily Sun

"Mthokozisi Twala haunted by his friend's murder as source claims cops are close to making shock arrest" - front page lead, January 13 2015

Daily Sun (January 13 2015) - MTHOKOZISI TOLD Daily Sun that the day Senzo died something inside him died as well.

The man who watched Senzo play his first and last PSL matches said he has not rested since that terrible day.

"SENZO'S DEATH HAUNTS ME EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE," HE SAID.

"Every night I pray to God for justice for my best friend's cruel murder. There is nothing I want more than justice," said Mthokozisi Twala (27).

"When I watched him play against Ajax FC I didn't know that I was watching him play for the last time.

"After the match Senzo insisted that I join them for lunch and sleep over at his house," said Senzo's childhood friend.

He said they ended up spending the following day with their friend Tumelo.

"We made jokes and laughed, not knowing that it was the last time," said Mthokozisi.

"I haven't had a good day since his death."

He said he still relives the moment that the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper died.

Senzo collapsed in the lounge of Kelly Khumalo's mother's house in Vosloorus, Joburg, after he was shot in the back on Sunday 26 October last year, allegedly by robbers.

He said he could not celebrate Christmas last year without his friend. And he was supposed to talk at the memorial service and funeral but he couldn't bring himself to say anything.

"The pain was too great for me. I had no time to prepare myself for his death," said Mthokozisi.

"I still get emotional talking about him and what he meant to me."

He said he lost his sister shortly after the funeral, making it a double tragedy.

"I know that Senzo is a great angel in heaven looking down on his children, his family and his friend," said Mthokozisi.

He told the People's Paper he will do anything to see Senzo's killers behind bars.

"There are strange people who come looking for me at my house and that makes me scared. I don't know what they want, but if I have to, I am willing to follow Senzo," he said.

) A source close to the investigation told Daily Sun the police are following a lead after a witness who was in the house came forward with information.

The source said: "The police are keeping things quiet but they are close to making an arrest.

"Not everyone who was in that house at the time of the murder is telling the truth. People are going to know the truth very soon," said the source.

Police did not respond to Daily Sun's queries by the time of going to press.
