Trevor Fowler leaves the Presidency

Former acting director general vacates position by mutual consent

STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENCY ON TREVOR FOWLER'S DEPARTURE

The Presidency and its Chief Operations Officer Trevor Fowler have decided to part ways by mutual consent (see report).

Trevor Fowler joined the Presidency as Chief Operations Officer in 2004. His main responsibilities included overall management and day to day running of the office.

He also served as Acting Director-General in The Presidency between 01 November 2008 and 05 June 2009.  As acting director general he was responsible for, among other things, managing the transition from the outgoing to the new administration.

Fowler will leave the Presidency in August 2009 to pursue his career in the engineering profession.

Director-General in The Presidency Vusi Mavimbela thanked Mr Fowler for his loyal, professional and dedicated service to the government and wished him well in his future endeavours.
