Zwelinzima Vavi launches new website

John Dludlu says this is to ensure members of the public have all the facts about the paralysis in COSATU

Dear colleagues

We are pleased to inform you that we've created and launched a new website www.vivavavi.org.za

We've set up the website to ensure members of the public have all the facts about the paralysis in COSATU which has manifested itself through the continued illegal suspension of Cde Zwelinzima Vavi from his elected position as General Secretary of the Federation.

The last few weeks have seen an escalation in the malicious disinformation campaign to discredit him.

To enable the public and the media to have full facts, we are giving them access to Cde Vavi's side of the story.

The site, which is easy to navigate, contains all the important documents, speeches, press releases and pictures from Cde Vavi as well as the Nine Progressive Unions which are calling for his reinstatement and the convening of a Special National Congress to end the impasse gripping COSATU today.

The Important Documents section contains previously unpublished documents including the Reflections on COSATU Unity. This sets out the true origins of the divisions in the Federation.

As Cde Vavi prepares to challenge his illegal suspension in the South Gauteng High Court next week, we've provided an easy-to-read guide to workers about the crisis in COSATU as well as details about next week's night vigil in his support.

We also deal with the selective leaks around the sale and purchase of the COSATU House.

The site is an additional resource to Cde Vavi's social media and public engagement. It also supports the communication efforts of the Nine Progressive Unions.

This is a start, not the end, of improvements we are planning around communicating on this important matter.

Other than reading the documents contained, we would also appreciate feedback.
