Daily Sun (August 4 2015) - AFTER BEING on air for only eight months, Generations: The Legacy has lost another star.
First Denise Zimba asked to be released and then Asanda Foji was axed.

Vuyo is said to have requested the show to release him from his contract, playing Kumkani “Gadaffi” Phakade, as he has other projects he wants to explore.
Speaking to Daily Sun, he said his fans shouldn’t be concerned. “My fans will see me even more than before.” He didn’t want to say what he was doing next but he has been posting many boxing related pictures on social media. When asked if his next project would have anything to do with boxing, he laughed and said: “Let’s leave that as a bit of a cliffhanger.”
The show, which has had its fair share of drama in real life after the axing of the original Generations cast, has already lost Mary, played by Denise Zimba, and Simphiwe, played by Asanda Foji. Gadaffi’s departure was announced by the show’s publicist, Gaaratwe Mokhethi.
The show’s creator, Mfundi Vundla, wished Vuyo well. “He’s a talented young man who will certainly flourish in all his endeavourers,” said Mfundi.
Vuyo said Generations: the Legacy allowed him to take his craft as an actor to newer and better levels. “I plan to take that into the future characters I’ll be playing,” he said.
The show is currently fighting for viewership with the new SABC1 telenovela Uzalo and the soapie Skeem Saam. Uzalo is reported to have about 6 640 000 viewers while Generations has about 6 116 000 viewers.
The revamped show came back in December last year after a two-month break. Generations was suspended after 16 of the show’s stars went on strike. They were fired by Mfundi, who put together the new cast and storyline.
