Daily Sun (October 14 2014) - THERE WAS nothing funny about the funnyman's performance at the music festival.
Cops claim he was found drinking in public, that he fought and swore at them and refused to give his name.
ONLY LATER, IN THE POLICE CELLS, DID COPS FIND OUT HE WAS COMEDIAN KENNETH NKOSI!
Police Captain Chaka Marope said: "The man was arrested for public drinking and additional charges ofcrimen injuria and resisting arrest."
Nkosi was later released on a warning.
The well-known South African comedian and star of White Wedding was found allegedly drinking in public at the Macufe Festival in Bloemfontein on Saturday night. He was allegedly drinking beer with his friend on the street when cops approached them.
Police Captain Chaka Marope said Nkosi was told to go back into the pub if he was drinking but he refused.
Instead of just listening to the cops, he allegedly started swearing and - according to cops - resisted arrest.
Cops say they had to forcefully arrest the famous comedian.
Marope said the man told cops he was a Gauteng celebrity and couldn't be arrested by Bloemfontein cops.
He was taken to Parkweg Police Station, where cops say he refused to co-operate or give his name.
Marope said: "The suspect was detained for 18 hours."
He said when Nkosi was threatened and told he would be taken to the Bainsvlei cop cells, he decided to tell them his name and was finally released on a warning.
Kenneth did not respond to attempts to contact him for comment yesterday.

"The Parkweg police holding cells were full and we had to make use of neighbouring stations such as Bainsvlei and Bayswater," said Marope.
"People were arrested for various offences ranging from minor offences such as pick-pocketing to serious ones such as vehicle hijacking."
He said six people were arrested for common robbery, 35 for traffic offences, 100 for liquor related offences, four for possession of dangerous weapons, 10 for shoplifting, six for dealing in drugs, eight for assault, two for pick-pocketing and one for hijacking.
