"Gogo hires a hitman!" - Daily Sun

The front page and lead story of SA's largest daily newspaper, June 5 2014

Daily Sun (June 5 2014) - THE GOGO'S son hated her Ben 10 for abusing her wallet.

But when the son forced his mum to choose between her family and her Ben 10, she quickly made up her mind.

SHE DECIDED SHE WOULD RATHER KILL HER SON THAN GIVE UP HER BEN 10.

Not only was the 62-year-old gogo allegedly prepared to have her 37-year-old son murdered, she worked out a plan to blame the son's girlfriend (27) for his murder.

The son's shocked girlfriend told Daily Sun her boyfriend was always warning his mother about the Ben 10, but things started going badly wrong when R6 000 disappeared.

The son blamed the Ben 10 and the mother accused her own son of lying. When the Ben 10 took R27 000 from the gogo and moved out of her rented room in Braamfischer, Soweto the gogo went wild with anger . . . but not at the Ben 10! She blamed her son for making life so difficult for her lover that he'd chased him away.

What the son and his girlfriend only found out later was that the gogo had gone as far as to rent a hitman to murder her own son!

The girlfriend told Daily Sun the hitman visited her boyfriend's brother in their spaza shop in Braamfischer and told him about the plan.

"He told us he had been paid to kill my boyfriend and then make it look as if I had shot my boyfriend in anger," she said.

"We made a plan to trap the gogo so that she would have to tell the world about her evil actions."

The hitman, the boyfriend and the brother went to a house in Alexandra where they made a plan to trap the gogo.

"They phoned her and the hitman told her he had killed her son and put his body in a rubbish bin," said the girlfriend.

"He said he needed a black chicken to cleanse himself and some beers to celebrate and talk about the final payment for the job."

The happy gogo invited him to come to her rented room, but she almost died of fright when the hitman - and her sons - arrived!

After a family meeting the sons decided to take their mother to the police. She was arrested and charged with conspiracy to murder.

She appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court yesterday and will appear in the Protea Magistrates Court tomorrow.
